Neville Brody is an internationally known British designer best
known for his work in magazines. His work on ‘The Face’ transformed the way
designers and even readers approach layouts and typography. He has also
designed record covers along with a vast amount of typefaces throughout his
career.
Brody grew up in a suburb of North London and had always
planned on doing something in the art or painting field of work. He attended
the Fine Art Foundation Program at Hornsey College of Art. Then in 1976 he
began a three year course in graphics at the London College of Printing.
After he graduated he began working for ‘The Face’ where he
questioned the traditional structure of magazine design. In 1990 he opened FontWorks
and became the director of FontShop International also launching an
experimental magazine called FUSE. Neville Brody has affected the world of
typography and graphic design.
